Planet Azure: Summary
Planet Azure is an unofficial Language English1 name for EGO 1730-00001021082 a habitable planet 1217 light years from Earth in the constellation Draco.2 This body is the fourth satellite of EGO 1730-00000627719 - a seven (7) Earth mass water giant subsequently orbiting a class A4 white dwarf, EGO 1730-00000191610.3 'Azure' refers to the intense blue4 colour of the planet's hue, other names include 'The Blue World' and comparable translations. Azure has no pending IAU5 name.
Azure rotates with an axial tilt of 22.1° and period of 79488 sec (0.92 days). Its sub-system orbit follows a 0.11 eccentricity ellipse inclined 9.8°, mean distance of 1.36 million km with a 64.7 day period. In contrast, the sub-system's orbital path is a 0.04 eccentricity ellipse inclined 0.1°, 472 million km mean distance from the central star. Orbital period is 1525.5 days (4.17 years).
A terrestrial body6 Azure's mass is 0.98 Earths, density 8.68 g/cm3 and diameter 10981 km. Its interior consists of a large solid nickel-iron inner core surrounded by a liquid iron outer core. The core rotates 4% faster than the rest of the planet creating a magnetic field 9% stronger than Earth's. Around the core is a thick semi-molten silicate mantel. The surface crust is broken into a series of tectonic plates; four oceanic, five continental. The current epoch of continental drift has been active for at least 800 million years. Azure's approximate age is 3.6 billion years.
The surface is 66% covered by 4.1% saline oceans averaging 7100m in depth - 9710m maximum. Above sea level, the surface presents a wide variety of terrains such as mountains, deserts and plains. This landscape is irrigated by an extensive network of narrow fresh water rivers fed from ocean evaporation to inland seas, lakes and glaciers. The highest feature is 9.1km on the north continent.
The atmosphere is comprised of 75.1% nitrogen, 23.4% oxygen, 0.8% water vapour, 0.2% argon and trace materials. 90% of atmospheric mass extends 15km above sea level varying 8% from pole to equator. Surface pressure at sea level averages at 100.5kPa.
Biodiversity is estimated at four (4) million distinct species - 82% aquatic. The ecology is 99.6% photoconsumptive with thermoconsumptive mico-ecologies in the deep oceans near tectonic boundaries.7 Biology is based on carbon compounds utilizing a six (6) nucleotide dual helix heredity encoding mechanism. Biodiversity includes recognizable categories of fauna and microbial life. Animal-like life forms represent only 0.001% of catalogued species with no animal life detected outside the oceans. Anthropologists suggest that Azure is undergoing early stages of its own 'Cambrian Explosion'8 and the biodiversity will radically change during the current epoch.
Though not within their Sphere of Influence,9 Azure has been explored by two automated missions from Civilization Humanity.10 Travel time using conventional space flight technology is 16.6 years - manned exploration is not feasible. Azure is considered to be the most Earth-like of all known exo-planets within technological reach of Humanity.
There is no evidence of a native technical civilization.

Sensational work all around here Clayton, this does appear to be a beautiful planet.
Great scene!
fabulous scene and text!
Amazing scene I love it!
EXCELLENT IMAGE
Great looking image.
Very cool work and great description I'm booking my flight very soon
Cool!
Very interesting work and this planet looks a bit like ours, what a shame about the nitrogen and the long days. Very well done.
Extraordinary mood for this work .Thank you for the text.Congratulations as always. Have a nice week end
yeah and when they find a way to get out of here then they bwill do,i am talking about the people in power. they will leave us in the s..t they created.

Wonderful scene and colors!!!
Wow, this is so cool.
Very cool scene! Beautiful
Really beautiful scene!
wow! This is Very nice work clayton i really like it..
Excellent
With flowers, insects might arise soon, in this cambrian explosion. Belle image, avec un nom mérité pour cette planète.
Fabulous vue work wow !~love it 5+
Such a beautiful place my friend, beautiful creatio, very well done! Congratulations!
Very nice landscape and render.
Beautiful VUE ART
Very nice!
Great image and it sounds like a great place to visit. Let me know the next time your are booking a trip...
Deliciously intriguing. I love the way your mind works, and how your eyes, see. One of your best works.
A fine description for a nearby habitable exoplanet. Finely detailed and superbly composed. Excellent work!
On coming back to your gallery after my long absence, I automatically gravitated towards your Encyclopedia Galactica posts. I went back and reread them all, enjoying them tremendously, before sitting down to reread this one. This is a wonderful sounding planet. I wonder what the plants here smell like and if I would be allergic to them. (I am off my antihistamines for 5 days so I can get allergy tests on Monday so such things are on my mind.) Would my immune system say, "I don't know what that is so I'm not bothered." or "What the Hell is that! Attack!" It is not part of Humanities Sphere of Influence. Is it under another civilization's? It looks very tempting if manned exploration should become feasible. I'm sure the images and information coming back from the two automated missions has whetted the appetite for more. Beautiful image! I love the sky. The large Astronomical object on the left is another of EGO 1730-00000627719's satellites, right? It seems to have an interesting atmosphere too. Very interesting additions to your series. I'd love to go here too.
You also have beautiful space scene! Like this whan!
