Description
There is a lot of work being carried out on Reading Station - new platforms, more lines, etc.
Sadly, to make way for the new, they are getting rid of quite a lot of the old.
This bridge was part of a public access to the station before a new scenic bridge was built some years back.
The old footpath came in from the left, went under this arch, then up some steps which curved up and to the right and finally along the rest of the path exiting to the right.
I have walked it many times over the years until it was closed after an assault under the arch.

I have probably passed that many timrs time when i lived over there, but never really noticed it. However, as always Kev, you have captured the moment perfectly.
It is rather sad that many times old, wonderful things are lost in the name of progress... I have to say that the moment I saw this picture the first thing that came to my mind was an abandoned Hobbit hole!!
