Description
I heard the old Beatle song recently and it has been spooking in my head, especially when it comes to the words, which I never really understood or what was the real meaning behind them? - but it gave me a different way to interpret it - what I thought, perhaps it was misspelled and they may have meant FAITH?, not FACE?
"wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door" ...
***
here are some more of those lyrics, if you are interested -
"Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
Ah, look at all the lonely people ...
***
Let me know, if you got a better explanation or interpretation for me?
BTW all 3 pix are my own - do you like the Moroccan lamp?
Cheers Brigitte

A super shot and a great interpretation BB.
A brilliant interpretation, Brigitte. It brings a fresh interpretation, which I can relate to in some way.
I love your Moroccan lamp, as your photo-shots, which looks splendid, and the interpretation?...'No' I don't have a better one, my friend. Take it easy there with the hard work, my Brigitchen!
Fantastic Image I love it!
Very cool work. :)
fabulous picture
Creative visual interpretation of a classic song. To me, "wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door" signifies that she puts on makeup to create a false front to the world to hide her despair & loneliness. Why is it "by the door"? To rhyme with "who is it for?", of course...
Very good work one interpretation is that everyone has a 'face' that they present to the world, to their friends, etc.
Great idea and realisation!
Eleanor Rigby subsists on the crumbs of other people's romance and happiness, dreaming that one day she will find love. Rather than go out and make her dreams a reality, she sits in front of the window, looking the part of a romantic heroine, hoping her Prince Charming will see here there and sweep her off her feet. I think when she's home alone with the drapes closed, she probably schleps around in her fuzzy slippers feeling sorry for herself, but whenever she goes out, she puts on the face she wants other people to see. Keeping that face in a jar by the door is the same as keeping your coat and hat on a hook next to the front door. It's part of that liminal space where someone like Eleanor transforms herself from her private self into her public self ... she becomes the person she wants us to think she is. Your image is a perfect representation of the song lyrics, to my mind. What an extraordinary piece ... it's wonderful!
Superb realisation of what to song meant to you, I'll go with face in a jar, as most chicky babes I know always have to spend a lot time getting their face just right to present to the world...mmm. glad I'm a guy...LOL On the other hand, keeping you faith in a jar is also another guise she wants to present to the world and not the fuzzy slipper atheist look...LOLx2 Good one BB ! ~Cheers~
Awesome creation Brigitte!!
awesome work
Fantastic work Brigitte!! It could mean that she does not interact with the world, but merely to observe and therefore people can not know her inside, looking only at the outside as shown somewhat exposed in a vitrine.
Damn, auntietk stole my thunder! I was going to say exactly the same thing. That said, an outstanding image, done in a postwork media that I'm unfamiliar with, Brigitte! Love the textures.
I love how you have created this marvellous image and it really suits the song beautifully. I like auntietk's explanation too as the words have always struck me as a bit ambiguous, but I have always liked the song. I do like the lamp too. Very well done.
You have made a rather spectacularn creation, and In like everything about it, as well as the Moroccan lamp!
I think Auntitk said it perfectly, that's how I always took that song anyways.
Outstanding work!
Cool concept!
What a beautiful presentation of the lyrics. Fantastic image in a bottle, lamps and textures. Auntitk said it all so well.
I love your interpretation of Eleanor Rigby’s face Brigitte! Very cool because of the color of the glass bottle!!!!!
