Description
Logistics is the bane of all armies. In World War II, Patton had to stop his tanks because his fuel supply was diverted to other areas of the European Theater. If it had been possible to keep the Allied forces adequately supplied, I suspect the War would have ended a number of months earlier than it did. Instead, leaving Patten stalled, enabled the Germans to regroup and launch what became the Battle of the Bulge.
A lot of times, getting supplies is a mundane existence. Today, Sarge and Pvts. Downey and Jones drew the detail--not that they minded. It is always good to get away from the front lines any time you can. They have been to the closest supplie dump about five miles back from the front and are on their way back to their unit. Today's "necessaries" are water, gasoline, oil, and diesel fuel. It could have been Food, ammunition, clothing, or any number of things. It takes a lot of stuff to keep an army on the move.
Pvt. Downey has his machine gun ready and is keeping a sharp look out, as is Jones to the other side. Although, behind lines, there is always the possibility of running into an enemy picket or sniper. It's not unheard of black marketeers ambushing a supply run as well. Hopefully, this run will just prove a pleasant interlude for these two soldiers.

I'm dedicating this one to Luis aka Tryphon. Because all of the "necessaries" were created by him and given to the CG community as a freebie. You can find it in the Rendo Freestuff and at ShareCG. Thanks, Luis! These are probably most accurate and well modeled jerrrycans that you'll find anyway. Just compare the ones in the back of the truck with the ones on the running board of the truck. The latter, although nice enough, is typical. Those by Luis are exceptional--as is all of his modeling projects.
Thanks for looking and for your comments and other encouragements.
Jeremy

Cool ruins ...the dust is a bit overdone but in essence a well done approach (Particel FX is always a great challange i seldomly find a satisfieing solution)
I'd be a little uncomfortable sitting right next to those drums of gas myself...
Thank you very much for the dedication, glad to see some one using the cans, & your welcome. I did want to put something out there that would be used either by military or aviation fans. Well done Jer.
great fx!
