a phone booth that took your money and if you were lucky, you were able to connect to someone...

HAHA Cool Capture Mike!
Great idea for a photo Mike, and your point was well made
Nice shot but the question are..How much for a call ;-) 1$ in Canada
Almost reminds me of an enclosed phone booth I've filmed a couple of years ago. Great piece
I have not used pay phone since I was a kid but MagikUnicorn says $1.00 in canada YIKES...I remember last time I used it was a quarter but that was a long time ago...oh so it did not work for you well FSH will not have my business..
OMG - a pay phone!!! There are very few left around here. FSH acquired Qwest's pay-phone service several years back, so they're running those now. It's just another phone company. Lol.
cool capture, not sure also Mike.
Fish, Sucker, Hahahaha. Lol! ")
Don't see many pay phones anymore. They are sort of a target for vandels.
This is a truly, rare sight nowadays.
they are a thing of the past.I think one reason why they lost popularity besides cell phones was in a larger area with different area codes , the private payphones wanted charge calling to another area code even if it was across the street outstanding find
LOL.....Spectacular photo Mike, superb idea and sense of humor! Loved it!
I don't think there are any left around here...nice find!
I think you must have been near a CONTROL Headquarters building. If you stake out that place you'll get to meet Maxwell Smart. Or even better? Agent 99! ;)
LOL @ ZigZag....Maxwell Smart hehe..
Cool shot, Mike!!
Superb! A Precambrian phone! LOL. There are some left around here, but only in villages. (I wonder, Where changes his clothes superman now?)
I wondered where Clark Kent was changing his clothes these days... Great capture buddy.
L cool shot mike.
Might have better luck connecting to someone by the truck behind this antiquity!
Yes and some of the Deluxe models were encased in a crystalline and silver box with a folding door. It permitted the operator to attempt telephonic communications in something called privacy.
Wow, one with the phone attached!
Very cool shot haven't use one of these in years.. Last time I used one it cost 10c lol now any around you need a phone card.. I hate phones but pleased to have a cellphone which I reckoned I would never need..
WOW! WOW! I remember when these were new, as opposed to the "old fashioned" kind you could actually step into, even if the folding door (always etched with graffiti) never really closed right, or never opened right, once you were inside. I also remember seeing Superman (with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder) on the big screen and actually getting the joke of Clark Kent looking for an actual phone booth only to see a line of these. So much for the old Superman doing his quick-change in an enclosed (though largely invisible) space! This is a great shot of something soon-to-be extinct. I think there might be two or three of them in Chicago.
Love that capture - I remember these old phone cells, there ares still some here in Denia - Lol!
Cool capture!!
I remember them mate. The mouthpieces used to smell of spit!
Very hard to find a phone box round here any more. :o)
Still some left, but many damaged ...
They are taking most of ours out here except for public spots cause about everyone has a cell phone and no one makes use of them now great shot.
