The Black-necked Grebe, Podiceps nigricollis, a member of the grebe family of water birds, is known in North America as the Eared Grebe : see the nice picture posted by Pat Goltz this morning:
"Eared Grebes"
Le Grèbe à cou noir (Podiceps nigricollis) est une espèce d'oiseau de la famille des podicipédidés. C'est le plus sociable de tous les grèbes, mais aussi celui dont la population mondiale est la plus nombreuse.

a beauty with red eyes !
wonderful
Very cool capture
So lovely!
beautiful bird, but the red eye makes me feel uncomfortable. Looks a little evil to me! Your capture is fantastic as always: light, DOF, details, all is superb.
Wow, great shot. Beautiful capture of ripple reflections. Colors of light on water are a superb compliment to the plumage. This is one to hang in a gallery.
Fine shot, great colors!
