Description
Back when I was stationed in the Bay area in 1977, I happened upon a gun shop and found this WWI Bayonet for a mere $5 - talk about a score!
the really cool part of this is that it has the scabbard with it
tomorrow I'll post a close up of the proof marks
Thanks for all your wonderful comments and faves

You must have a great collection!!
Great capture of this awesome old bayonet Mike!!!
You did score on this Mike! There was a time in the late 1800s and early 1900s when a long bayonet was considered the way to go...but then (excuse the grusome detail) it takes a lot of effort and time to remove a long bayonet from the victim during which some other guy might do you in. Hence bayonets became shorter and shorter and now they are not issued at all.
A very interesting collection my friend....!!
Interessting collection !!!
That's really cool, MIke!
Wow what a score indeed. Fantastic presentation of your precious antique. Looks like you have kept this in perfect shape for the 25 yrs. or so. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning Artefact
An amazing looking sword - heavy duty! Jeff has got a collection of Japanese swords - more like light duty, compared to this one, BB (apologies for commenting a bit late, life has been a bit tumultuous as of late!)
what an awesome find and capture , MIke !
A good photo of this find!
That's an amazing find, indeed, Mike! You definitely scored on that one!
Excellent pic.
Very cool.
Well, this answer my question in your previous post!! Great find, you're lucky only $5.00 is fantastic!!!
That is a great deal, I know people who've spent a good deal more than 10 times that for a bayonet of this vintage. Lovely shot, too, Nice capture of the reflections on the metal.
now all you need is the Enfield Mk 1 to go along with it...
