Description
O'juin is a huge earth-like planet in a series of novel Mss that I wrote some years ago. It is peopled by a reptilian humanoid race, the H'lomeh. They are an interesting folk. They come in four skin colors--white, yellow, green, and orange. They can have siblings of all four colors (or not). As a result, they do not play the race card the way we Humans do.
The H'lomeh associate each color with a cardinal direction; white is north, yellow is east, green is south, and orange is west. There are all kinds of other associations as well; for example, whites are considered wise, oranges are supposed to be introspective, etc., etc.
A H'lomeh's skin color gives them a sense of identity not unlike Humans with our astrological signs.
Huil is a large inland sea. In this doodle, a band of H'lomeh are exploring the Lake Huil region, during The Great Despair--a period of two centuries after the alien Bhar-kar-d'esh destroyed the H'lomeh's advanced civilizatrion and reduced the few surviving H'lomeh to a stone-age existence. The invaders pursued the H'lomeh into the eastern wilderness.
Lake Huil became known as the "Staying Place" because for many decades it was free of Bhar-kar-d'esh. It was place where it was safe to stay for long periods--a place of respite for a constantly pursued people.
Well, enough of that. Thanks for stopping by.

Nice one Jeremy!
very interesting story and nice scene!
Nice. Great background info.
Great back-story and overall scene!
Uniquely cool how you based this on primary and secondary colors knowing that if they mate they will still be relatively the same color...just a little lighter or darker is all...Now that's thinking outside the box my friend...I caught this simply because art has always been my best subject and appreciate the fact that some artists here use this approach in their art as you did here....whether by accident or careful thinking it is still cool thinking.....(smiles)....
Love the image & story Jeremy..
