Description
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
Captured 12/11/11, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach, in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Not only does the Garden feature beautiful koi and a lovely land and waterscape, but also a large patch of smooth stones to add contrast to the scene.
I felt this collage of variations would be a cool/rad followup up to yesterday's rock landscape. The original on top.
A ZOOM is highly recommended.
Sayonara, thankx for the peek, and for any and all favs and NONcritical comments.

Mesmerising! Look out for my recent upload for you, harry.
Cool and creative stone collage, Harry.
I love river stones, and a whole big bed of them is about as good as it gets, I think. Your original shot is wonderful, and then you turned them into all sorts of pastel candies...cool stuff, Harry!
Really cool collage here Harry, love the title you chose.
A very nice touch to leave the red leaf in all five shots. Excellent collage and fantastic postwork. One of your best Harry!!!
What a marvellous lot of colour and variety you have achieved with these images. I love the patterns you have made with them.
wonderful post work.
wonderful capture and effcts but ike the original first :) ...Zen -like!!
Amazing pictures.
Yep! You need to be stoned to look at these stones!!!! lol And you are having fun aren't you mate.. Super collage, well done lol Thanks for the links Harry.. Got them :-) Rob
S-U-P-E-R-B! I thank you for this one. I want to see more from you. 5+!
Great shot and variations. I've found the red leaf in every five images. Cool title too.
LOL these are great!!1
a great place to end this session (I'll be back for more, though), because of its fun, its play, and the way you turned simple stones inside-out and made us see them anew. I saw the last rock-scape too & was utterly taken-in by the mesmerizing patterns the rocks made, and the simplicity of design of the swirls and 'tear drops' created by the rock formations. As well as the placement of trees/plants throughout. (The Japanese make a whole art out of stone placement...) But here you've turned it all into an exploration, and I love the skewed results. The top shot, btw, is worthy of an upload by itself: Because you've zeroed in on them & given us the 'insect's' view---a vast desert, filled with formidable hills and plunging valleys, and that wonderful lone red leaf. (There are other leaves, but that one really stands out.) Then, your reddening of the stones and your journey through increasingly warped time zones---great to see these stationery hard things suddenly join up and twist and turn 'as one'. Even #2---where there's only the beginning of movement---has a rhythm all its own. Finally, the bottom one is one of my favorite of your many wonderful manipulations---a big "drip-fall" of stones, being all pulled-out of shape by gravity. Great piece, as if a giant magnet pulled them all out of whack. (You spoke of geode radio: I assume you did the experiment where you put iron filings on a piece of paper, and then moved a magnet beneath them, making all these amazing lines formed by invisible magnetic fields: This reminds me of that.) Then they all kind of settle out at the bottom---with the signature red leaf to remind us where we started...Wonderful play, and a really fine shot to start. I'll be back for more, I promise, but it's always a pleasure to come here, Harry. There are many other fine pieces waiting me...but I've been over an hour here, now, so for this morning, I'll bid you a fine Tuesday in LA!!!
