Description
More plums plucked from my forgotten files, captured 6/12/10, at the Centennial Aviation Day celebration held on the grounds of the beautiful Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum in Carson, California.
Good detail via ZOOM. Camera used was my beloved but now defunct Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3.
The gentleman in foto 2 told me he was covering the event for the local Los Angeles PBS television outlet, KCET. The lady in foto 3 was working for some small outfit in the South Bay area, the name of which I don't recall. Other than that, I don't know if the other photogs shown were working for some news organization or just taking pics for personal reasons. In any event, I had fun that day violating everyone's privacy, as is my wont. Over the years the numbers must run into the thousands by now.
Incidentally, with that elegant outfit in the bottom shot, the chap was a model of decorum.
Totziens, thankx for dropping by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

OY!! That guy in the top photo...... I WANT that lens!! :-P Cool photos of photogs at work!
Very interesting! In UK if you are in public anyone can take your pic. On private property that is another matter.
I love it that you took photos of the photographers, that's so cool. I do envy the gear these folks have. Sigh, someday... I like it that you caught each of them while they were focused (pun intended) on their work, not chatting or such. It's fascinating to see how people go about such things. Great collection!
all i can say they have some big cameras here. loot of money showing here. Plus you have to be strong to carry all that stuff too.
Very nice collage here Harry, you managed to capture so many people here unaware.
You have caught them all beautifully and they all look to be totally absorbed in catching just the right shot. An excellent collage.
What I wouldn't give for some of those long lenses...excellent captures, Harry!
Super batch of photogs Harry. Have to snicker a little at the guy in the 4th frame. He looks like such a gear geek that we probably all take better pictures than he does... I'd love to go to an airshow with one of those huge, long lenses...maybe I can borrow one sometime:)
really cool collection of all ,wish i has one of this Camera's too ;)
You caught them all so busy with their own cameras they did not notice you pointing yours at them. Nice photog collage.
Looks like some expensive lenses there. Great to see fellow photographers in action!
Excellent batch of pictures Harry.. They look NOTHING like I do.. lol Glad you told me the Lady in 3 worked for a someone, I thought grief that's a load of gear to haul around! Same goes with Number 4! But still I see the same sometimes lol Good shots mate! Rob
That's my DAD, " Taking pictures of people taking pictures...your so funny!!! LOL I LOVE YOU
Great collage Harry and some nice looking equipment in there!
SMILE for the camera folks! lol Wow what a selection of photographers Harry...One day I shall have me a camera like these!
lol, some of the comments saying they'd love some of those huge lenses. What a collection of personalities and dress codes, not to mention the equipment. This brings me back to your old parade & fair series, where you captured so many different personalities in one montage. (Your photojournalist side.) While I see everything full-size, this one really pops off the page full-size. The first guy, I agree, has a lens to die for. Love Rod's comment, "Oy!" (My grandfather would put it differently: "Oy! A man could get a HERNIA carrying that thing!") Fine capture of the earnest immersion of a photographer at work: Even his arm muscles are visibly tensed. Good detail! #2 is the big pro, you said. Well he's definitely got stuff goin' on there I couldn't tell you about. But the depth of the camera-body itself indicates a top-level unit. And he's got the look of a photographer in the middle of a shot. You really just move right on in on these people, and capture them totally immersed in what they're doing! #3 seems relaxed, and wow has she got a lot of stuff. I don't know what half that stuff is! Real variation from the others, esp with that striking blue shirt. #4: I think it was bill who said he was such a geek we'd all probably take better pics than he would...lol! Great capture, because he's short and he's almost swamped by all that stuff. (You know how to pick the right postures & moments!) And 5---I love your comment about a "model of decorum": He obviously doesn't care how he looks (those shorts are NOT wedding fare), but with a lens like that I guess you can call your shots. I wouldn't want to confront this guy in an alley...A real cornucopia of photographers, as well as people. Wonderful collection. Well, I have to stop here to get to galleries I've not even visited once yet, but I'll be back again, I can promise you that. And btw, you have a lot of series, I don't know how you keep track of where you are in each one. It must require an accounting firm. You never get the # wrong and some of these series go back a long ways!
