Hello Harry :) Nicely done, the Shadows are really cool.
Great eye to spot so many cool shadows on display Harry.
cool shadows these are.
My, what long legs you have, my friend!
I especially love the colors in that middle shot.
Brilliant shadow captures, Harry; you're a master of this particular idiom!
You've given me the feeling that I am on this walk with you. Light, shapes, shadows...well done. It pays to get up early doesn't it?!
What fun these are! Such Loooooong shadows. You look like you're on stilts. Nice photos :-)
Marvelous! I love the rosy tint to shadow #1, the composition and lines of #2, the composition of #3, the irregular patterns made by the shadows in #4, and the simple elegance of #5. I also like the sizes in #3, and the way the pots stretch out horizontally, you become a tiny bystander in a giant world, and a palm tree looms large and nebulous against the warm colored wall. Very beautiful work!
Nice collection of shadows :)
WOW! Five great shadow shots Harry and a wonderful collage. Two more “Harry shadows” for us to analyze.
Excellent shots...I think these random places are facinating to see Harry!
ditto with denise, bill, jodie, lucinda and dana: And I add, spuh-lendid! (That's 'splendid' in my usual patois...) Not only for its splendid variety, but because you've gone from minimalism to medium complexity to some real complexity. And because you also have quite a variety of tonalies/hues. The balloon is 1st rate minimalism, esp with the bright red against all the gray. (And the long shadow against the small bulbous balloon, etc.) The second is splendid, just love the post & the hydrant & you in shadow. (And all against that intense early light.) The third has wonderful almost jaundiced light, with so much empty wall, with your shadow almost an afterthought; and feeling as much like a late day as early day shot, with an almost science-fiction feel. Truly enticing! 4 is a zig-zaggy affair, complemented by that car jutting into traffic in the background, and the various long shadows that keep coming as we go back into the shot. (The parking-lot fence adds its own.) And the last is so forlorn! A little snippet of old european ornament, in the midst of an otherwise empty sidewalk and all those straight verticals. In my neighborhood those ornaments would be crowded into lots & lots of others, a kind of visual barrage. LA has the same thing. But in neighborhoods like this one---more typical of chicago too---they're reminders of a designer's vision plunked into the midst of an urban stretch of sameness. A terrific collection, Harry, and a terrific eye in each instance. You definitely are one of RR's masters of this large & varied genre.
