Description
my dad told me that what they used to called the Scot bag pipe players as they march in the army and the ones that fight too. They was mostly fearless and fought hard too. I read a story of one army big piper stated to play as the men was under fire of the Germans. He got up and started to walk down the road playing his bag pipe, b\dust was flying up around him as the bullits hitting around him on the road and the Americans solders that was there yelled at him to get down. He yelled back to say" do you want to live forever?" He got the men up and running towards the Germans who saw them and they broke and ran away. The bag piper lived to play another tune. It a true story.
My dad say too long ago that the american Indians was afraid of these guys too as the Africa natives also.
anyway that the images i get as I saw this comeing at me. My dad told me a lot about the Scots as they are my people of old.
this was going on in a march at Texas Renaissance Festivalr in Texas in Oct. MrsLubner and Flannelman was there too. check out they galleries

If they are good, the songs are great - if not, well..... Great capture
Cool capture, Jock, but why do they call them the ladies from hell? I've got tons of bag piper photos from May 2010 in my files that I have yet to show.
my dad say the was called this as they was fearless and fought hard too.
Wonderful shot and lovely piper... I remember the song Mull of Kyntire by Paul Mc Cartney!
love bag pipes, nice shot there Jocko. have a Happy New Year..
I am 1/4 Scottish and I have been watching very old movies about WWII and the bagpipe players would lead the soldiers into battle, even back during their battle with Nordic invaders very candid shot Jock
Great photo, great title, and great story!
AWESOME!!!
My grandfather was Scotch, and he said that, too. Wonderful shot, Jocko!
I once discovered my grandfather's bad pipes in his attic - I was about years old. I was transfixed. He gave them to me and I kept them for years until the bladder went stiff and crumbled. But I always wanted to play them. When I got an opportunity to learn to play an instrument in school, I chose the bag pipes. Alas, they did not offer instruction for bag pipes. I'm sure my parents (and neighbors) were eternally grateful. This is a fabulous shot. The crowd seems to follow him as if he was the pied piper.
Wonderful,
Most excellent...!!!
Amazing shot again Jocko, the outfit is perfect, superb and capture, loved it a lot!
It takes a real man to wear a kilt and a brave one to play the pipes. :) Excellent capture! :)
What a great story and this guy looks quite fearless as well. Wonderful shot.
Some of the beautiful music that comes from a bag pipe will send chills down ones spine. :)))) Most brave soul you told about my friend. :))))) Most excellent capture. :)))))) Thank you for sharing the story and the image my friend. :))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))))

For me, one image that represents courage is that of pipers playing into battle. It takes guts to do that, and they did it. But Why "ladies"? Is plural of Lad?
Great shot!

And here I thought they were called that because they reminded them of their own 'wind bags'! ;)
yes indeed very brave men and a fine tribute you did.
Yep, if I saw this coming towards me (as my father used to say) either lead them in prayer or run like hell!
She certainly looks not to be messed with Jock and by the way I love the sound of the bagpipes.
