Description
I finally got around to finishing up the hi- resolution version of Don's (London224) USS Yorktown. This water technique takes quit a bit of time to render at this resolution (the actual render is quite a bit larger than this posted version at 22" wide). The ship itself renders smoothly and quickly even with all the detail. I posted the same view as a low resolution render, but you can really see some of the fantastic detailing in this one. You can read my comments on the model in the low res post (previous). Pretty incredible. Check it out for yourselves. I'm looking forward to doing more with this!
USS Yorktown by London224 at Cornucopia3d.com definitely worth a perusal!

Just picking my jaw up off the floor.......stunning realism, truly awsome..I'm pinching this for my new desktop...a fave of faves, look forward to more of this.. 100% 10/10
Yup looks brilliat, just one suggestion, you may want to paint a bit of spray in around the foam at the bows, it's a bit hard edged. Apart from that it looks fantastic.
that is very nice work
Fantastic, young man! Just superior; bravo zulu!
great realism. love the bow waves.
Beautiful job, I really like the water, and you've done a good job with the composition.
Good work... really ploughing up a storm. Mind you, at this level of detail you'll now need someone to make dozens of tiny lo-res sailors to populate it with.
Excellent render indeed
Oh JEEZ! FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC!!!!!!!! as promised, without question or worry, A FAVE! Rob
Awesome detailed modeling work!
Being a Vue user too i'm not surprised the water took soo long. A truly stunning render and the postwork on the wake really makes this stand out. Fantastic indeed!
super great real render work
Fantastic! Has something of a "painted" quality to it. The water & wake were well worth the wait, too.
Wow! Wonderful POV.
Man you have got to animate this stuff
