Description
You may wonder why the title says "What" instead of "Who" comes. Prostitutes don't consider Johns as "whos." They are a commodity just to them just as the John sees them as a commodity and not a person.
Unfortunately, many of these girls are virtual slaves in the sex trade. Often, they are underage--runaways from unhappy home situations. It's hard to say if they are the unlucky ones. Many end up dead at the hands of serial killers or really bad choices in male companions.
Sadly, slavery is alive and well even in America and Europe. It's not a Third World pheonmenon by any means. Many of our teenage runaways--both girls and boys--end up as sex slaves. Many others are imported from around the world.
I feel that the Federal and State authories need to make the eradication of such practices a top priority. Instead, they often look the other way, thinking that their limited resources must be used for more "serious" crimes. In a democracy, I can't think of a more serious crime than enslaving someone. That many of the enslaved are minors only makes it worse.
I would be remiss if I didn't also point out that slavery in America takes many forms besides just the sex trade. Lots of illegals end up in sweat shops or working in agriculture as well.
Shame on us all for allowing slavery in our wonderful, if not perfect, country!

Okay, I'll step down from the soap box for now. The figure is pixeluna and shadownet's "Mirabelle" morphs and their "Ronny" textures (Renderosity) for DAZ's Victoria 4.0. Her hair is menka's "Camacca" Hair (ShareCG?). Clothing is all Powerage's "My Jeans" (which I think was a freebie from ShareCG). Set is either "Streets" a freebie by 3-D-C (ShareCG) or a purchased product from Renderosity. I'm not sure which).
Thanks for looking. I always appreciate your visits, comments, and other encouragements.

bonne image!
Powerfull piece sir!, we've had quite a lot of coverage on this subject over here too, I've also seen a few of the 'Freedom Project' shows on CNN. Perhaps a jaded view but on the subject of Authorities doing something about it, how often are politicians caught with a 'hooker'?.... Slavery was a big topic when I went to school, an O-Level history question was 'when was slavery abolished'....the correct answer then was 1833.....the answer today would seem to be 'tomorrow, hopefully'. Living on the Mersey we're surrounded by echo's of 'the slave trade', and it is touted as 'history', sadly still a modern history. We pride ourselves on great advances, socially and technologically, however I don't think the production of something like the latest I-Pad or cell phone would stand up too well to very close scrutiny. It is said that if you could clear this up overnight, the worlds economy would take another dip, that's probably true and sad indictment of man'kind'......with the way things are the problem seems more likely to grow rather than decline.....somebody said "you can't refer to social injustice as inhuman....only humans are capable of it"..... Oh yes, like the picture too, really like that natural pose but you need to do something about that brickwork...winters coming and the damp will get in.... Take care buddy...
a sad but true situation all around the world!!!
Great Image.. I think it's a crime that so many young people get caught up/forced into prostitution rings & not many people really seem to care.
You're right, Jeremy! We are not worthy to call ourselves civilized if we allow this! A great complaint about sex trade! Well done! :)
the story you stated is true and it is sad....very nice render.
I like how you posted a simple image, with a sweet girl leaning against the wall. Though the subject is quite serious, you have handled it in such a great way. I have read of these news too, it's been happening for a long time now and it is something that can't be ignored because our youths are the victims here. Quite sad but it is reality.
True my friend very true.
Excellent work.
I couldn't agree with you more. It's a shame that people can do those kinds of things to each other. Nice composition on this piece, though!
