Description
Nycticorax nycticorax. Found in Reid Park, Tucson, Arizona, USA.
This fellow wasn't very afraid of anybody. This seems to be typical of the juveniles in this park. This year, I saw several juveniles. He was by the edge of the lake, just across the walk from me, until he flew off. He landed over my head, almost, and I moved around the tree to get this shot. I've posted pictures of this species before; it is one of my favorites because they're fun to watch.
