Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus! (colloquially referred to as Dschungelcamp) is a German television series based on the British reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. A batch of five male and five female more or less known celebrities, ready to expose themselves to a large amount of viewers, have to spend about two weeks in an Australian jungle camp. Each day, the viewers vote for the celebrity they would like to face a difficult task and later vote for their favorite to become the “Queen” or “King of the Jungle”.
The tasks are called “Dschungelprüfung” (“Bushtucker trial” in the original British series) and are supposed to push the contestant to his or her mental and/or physical limits. Depending on their performance, they are able to collect yellow or red plastic stars that count as parts of a meal for the camp inhabitants. The contestant is chosen by the viewers in the first week of the show, and by the candidates themselves in the second week.
The show is hosted by Sonja Zietlow and Dirk Bach. Five seasons have aired since 2004—two were shot in 2004, one in 2008, another in 2009 and the newest has aired in January 2011. The health and wellbeing of the celebrities and crew is looked after by Medic Bob McCarron and his team from EMS. Bob is responsible for all of the creatures and food in the challenges.

Nice image and info on the background of this image.. But I too hardly watch TV and after a couple of survivor series I give reality programs the big miss lol.. Must say that she does look freaked out in this image must be Medic Bob McCarron in the BG sneaking up on her and she didn't know it and thinks its a ghost lol..

We have "Survivor" here, but it's usually not celebrities, just asshats that think they're celebrities! I wish they'd do away with all "reality" TV... they all suck. This render on the other hand doesn't, I like the black/white look here, Ute.

Oh, nein....diese Sendung geht ja gar nicht. Dieses Auffangbecken für verkrachte Existenzen, von B und C-Promis, die sich voll zum Deppen machen. Dein Bild allerdings gefällt. Die Kleine scheint auch völlig genervt zu sein und schreit nach Erlösung!

Kann man nur sagen - wärst Du ein Star, dann hättest Du nicht hingehen brauchen... Vielleicht bin ich ein Dinosaurier - aber ich hänge an den klassischen Formaten des Fernsehens und an seinen ursprünglichen Aufgaben - Information und Bildung. Diesen ganzen Reality-, Talk-, Spiele-Shows kann ich nichts abgewinnen. Und schon gar nicht solchen, wo die Würde des Beteiligten ( und vor allem der Zuschauer) so mit Füßen getreten wird. -------------------------------------- Gut gemacht...
