Description
...Autumn seems to quickly be racing toward winter in parts of the USA, so I better get up some fall colors before they go out of season:)
...this view caught my eye...evergreens seen through brilliant yellows/oranges of fall deciduous trees in Provo Canyon, Utah. The elevation here in the Wasatch Range (western edge of the Rocky Mountains) is about 5,000 feet above sea level...hence, this mix of deciduous giving way to evergreens as the elevation increases...until the "tree line" is reached, above which there are no trees at all.

A really beautiful shot Bill and well seen.
beautiful
Wonderful capture of this beautiful Autumn scene Bill!!!!
Nice shot of aspen with evergreens in distance. Locals in Utah call aspen "Quakies" or "Quakenasp" because the leaves tremble with the slightest breeze or seismic tremor.
Beautiful fall scene Hugs Susan~
marvelous colors
Autumn has come and gone here Bill ;-) We have snow drifts to bury cars in lol A super picture my friend, one for the scrap book indeed! Well taken Rob
Surrouned by gold....beautiful scenery.
wonderful composition! Great image!
Tree line - something like the reveres hemline for a mountain Very cool capture
Gorgeous fall colours, Bill; I was pleased to see they'd arrived around here when I got home! Too bad I also acquired a fierce cold on the plane coming home :( And Ronnie says he'll do you a tutorial on how to use RAW...
A super Autumn shot. Love the colors.
Sweet capture Bill, very well done!!
Beautiful! I love the way you've composed this shot, and I'm glad you were able to capture those autumn colors you were enjoying so much! :)
A window on a different world, framed so well! Clive
Luscious! We seem to have more red and oranges here. Superbly composed
Nature is amazing, beautiful pic!!!
Fantastic autumn landscape. Beautiful image.
WOnderful capture of all these gorgeous autumn trees.
wonderful colors here
Lovely indeed Bill a joyous time of year for golden Autumnal hues..
This is a spectacular capture, Bill! I love the triangular framing of the evergreens - it really enhances the 'upward' feel with the mountain reaching for the sky in the background. Wonderful shot!
Autumn is doing strange things here in Chicago...it gets exceptionally cold before getting warm, only to get exceptionally cold again. I think that weather in these parts is suffering from rapid-cycle bipolar disorder: I'm expecting snow during a heat wave, as is typical of Chicago. Sometimes. Well, not often, but it has happened. Microbursts or something like that. And as this has nothing to do with this photo, I'll switch gears and actually say something about this photo. First off, I love the yellowed deciduous framing and the manner in which the evergreens are so wonderfully positioned. The green/yellow combination is nicely contrasted and there's a warmth to the image (from the colors). I really dig that depth too. All in all, this shot rocks, and I love the way it kinda reminds me of a map of an island (the pines) surrounded by yellow water: probably full of sand, or some odd algae or whatever else is likely to ooze out of my mind-nooks. This is really nice.
Love the colors and a peak thru it. Aloha
Trees around here seem to turn brown overnight and in the morning someone sneezes and the leaves are all gone. Can't remember the last time I saw colours like this, maybe in your gallery this time last year :-) Great capture, really like the way the greens are framed.....nature has it's moments and you caught this one just right..
Texas may not have any with the extreme drought here.this breath taking
Gorgeous autumn colors. Nothing like this in south Florida.
Beautifully captured Bill!
Our trees went from full color to...brown...only certain areas got any color this year...hope you and Tara are well Bill! Hugs to you both!
