Description
...my secret quest before 'fessing up to it now:)...is to find old rusty cars and trucks to photograph.
...yesterday I found a fine example. It was sitting in blistering light at about 10,000 feet above sea level at the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine just outside Cripple Creek, Colorado.
...after doing my due diligence and carefully researching photos of Ford trucks online, I've found this to be a 1935 model.
...I feel a lot better than this old dump truck looks but I'm not 76 yet and at least it is still here to be photographed:-)

wow that a old truck for sure. cool
Well, I still find it rather beautiful. It got all the beautiful texture of age, which I for people call "charm texture" ;-) A wonderful clear shot.
Marvellous! And of course, although much younger, you also are still here to be photographed and I look forward to when I can do so myself.
Really cool!
Cool capture
Awww - just 4 short years younger than what I feel and look at the moment. Excellent shot of this gracious oldtimer Bill!
That's a much-used and abused old beast! But it still has wonderful lines, and it's a wealth of textures...well found and shot, Bill!
What a great old truck! I love the way it has aged, and wonder what it looked like when it was new. You've aged much more gracefully than this old truck. :P I haven't found a spot of rust on you yet! LOL! :*
I wonder how long it's been standing there. Dry, hot climate, yet looking so old. It's served its purpose well, it seems, and then been abandoned. I wonder what the story is behind that. An old pre-WWII veteran. Even in the delapidated there is a certain beauty. Nice job, Bill. Keep it up! :-)
I bet that has seen some things :o)
fabulous capture!
one very careful owner
Six years older than me and I'm falling apart too!! Lol. Nice shot Bill.
Great find and capture Bill its a wonder it hasn't been taken a way and restored years ago would look great done up!!
Nice find - she looks every second of seventy six but she's still here. Great shot.
It looks like it has taken a beating Reminds me of our car when the deer hit it but not this bad:LOL This is a relic from the past Great find and capture Hugs Susan~
This is probably how I will look when I get to be 76 years old. LOL!!! Very wonderfully capture old rusty Ford Bill!!!!
WONDERFUL CAPTURE
Heh - I'm not there, either, but there are days I feel like this old truck looks - rusty and worn out! LOL! That's a wonderful find, Bill! And you got a great shot of it. If it could talk I'll bet it would have some stories...
Wow what a rare find Bill. Beautifully captured. I wonder if it would have had a little less rust if it had been abandoned somewhere in Arizona.
What a find! It looks quite smashing, even in its current condition. I've been in the odd sort of Star Wars kind of mood lately. I guess it's because Target has been pumping out a few "Target Exclusive" action figure sets from the whole span of the Star Wars film franchise, including the CGI animated "Clone Wars" saga...and so I'm kinda in this "oooh, let's look for rusty stuff with bulbous shapes" kind of a mood. This fits perfectly. Of course I much prefer real old, post-mortal cars to CGI effect landspeeders or what-have-you, and I can say that were I there, I'd be poking around for rattlesnakes (with a long, long stick) before getting into some rust-photographing position and complaining about sand or something stuck in my shirt once I finagle my way back upright. Of course, before I even read your text, I imagined hearing you and Corey comparing stories about the production history of this particular beauty and Corey getting seriously spooky with his knowledge of what color underwear the original designer of this vehicle was wearing on the day that he submitted the final design to the one you would have submitted final designs to in the automotive contrivance industry, back when stuff was heavy and detailed and such. And to top it off, I love the way this single image conjured so tangentially-related a thought. This is a cool, nicely elegant shot.
places to roam what a find I like it too warm hugs, Linda
What a find, Bill! I doubt I would find one in fields out here with less rust - a well used workhorse! Clive
still as good as new... with rust removed, nickel updated and metal sandblasted and painted it could live another hundred years...excellent capture, Bill!
Post as many of these as you can find please. You are so lucky in the States to have all these fine rust old vehicles still about.
LOL : Tara! Great quest Bill, nice one.. I look forward to many more 'wreaks' being posted! lol This is a beauty.. Well found! Rob
Superb and spectacular image.
A great capture of this ancient old truck. It looks to have seen better days but then it is the same for me too. lol.
