Ok so I posted this on FB but I just had to post it here too...
Heres what happened...
I was outside messing around with my new lens (Tamron Canon 90mm Macro lens) taking pictures of ACORNS because I can find nothing else to take pictures of...I get up after probably 50 shots of these stupid acorns and I am thinking "grrr wish I had something really cool to photograph..." I turn around and would you know it a huge OWL is standing almost eye level with me on our deck railing!!!
I get myself together and focus, and as I am snapping pics I am inching closer and closer until I am 3 feet away from this enormous beautiful bird. Its watching me, staring at me, its not afraid at all. I photographed it for probably 5-10 minutes until it finally flew away completely silent, just as it had shown up behind me, completely silent.

i really like owls and that'a a great capture of a think a barn owl...i think there are 3 types of owls in the u.s. chills and thrills.

LOl...acorns..we got pinecones, want any? Please specify bucket size. Only owl I ever saw dive-bombed a buddy of mine, it's just not right that anything can be so deathly silent lol.
