Description

The Lesser Grey Shrike (Lanius minor) is a member of the shrike family Laniidae. Same bird as yesterday...the last day of our stay in Lesbos, I really could “establish a contact” with this extraordinary bird: for sure he saw me but he allowed me to come (slowly) closer, take pictures and then flew away... I will never forget this moment ! La Pie-grièche à poitrine rose (Lanius minor) est une espèce de passereau aux moeurs alimentaires proches des rapaces appartenant à la famille des Laniidae. Le même oiseau qu’hier… le dernier jour de notre séjour à Lesbos, j’ai vraiment eu l’impression d’avoir « établi le contact » avec cet oiseau extraordinaire : c’est certain, il m’avait repéré et pourtant, il me permettait de m’approcher…lentement… de prendre des photos…avant de s’envoler… je ne suis pas prêt d’oublier cette rencontre magique ! . Wonderful story, and very nice pose. If you move straight toward a bird slowly, they will often stay for awhile. You don't look like you're moving unless you move sideways.
