Description
This is the first in a series of streetscenes I shot while spending a few days in London this month.
They all explore themes of perspective, always visually and often metaphorically as well.
London is a wonderful part of the world for some gritty works, especially in the eastend and dockside... but this one is from Soho.
Caught these two blokes in a narrow and crowded Kingley Street late on a Friday afternoon. Probably on their way to a postwork pub crawl from the look on their faces. I loved the way they were happily going against the flow, just enjoying each other's company and the anticipation of a pint.
Shot with a Nikon Coolpix S9100 point and shoot which is perfect for fast grab sneaky shots of people!

indeed has a special flair.havent heard the word bloke for a long time.
You captured this very well, the story must be close to the truth. I spend some time with a family in Londen and friday always ended in the pub.
This has a nice, lively vibe to it, enhanced by the use of black and white! This also has an oddly historical feel to it; probably due to its being in black and white! It works wonderfully and it a beautiful, candid shot. Marvelous work.
great5 capture of this moment !! like this both smiling and the buildings too!!
Welcome back Roxy!:-))I hope that was a nice trip!Beautiful B&W Shot they looks really happy!:-))))
This is a very nice capture.
Cool! This is something quite new to see from you, but very interesting. Looks like there might be a story to those two guys. - ugh my writers mind is running off again :-) Good to see you by the way!
Very nice capture of this street. b/w makes it even better.
So Thaaaaat's where dear Roxy's been...now I am all envious...I so want to visit London. Loooooving the Soho shot too...my envy deepens. GREAT POV and post treatment work. Now we can see your talent as a fotog--Lookout Hendesse!
amazing capture
Wonderful shot! Love the compostion with the tall buildings and the two smiling chaps. Was there in '97 as soundman for the band Mastermind. We spent 7 days in England and four of them in London. Found a couple after hours clubs in this area one night. Interesting 'late night, night life'.
wow! there my friend, you not only have magniifcent art talents but your photography rocks also.. love b&w, perfect capture Roxy..
Excellent capture!
Stunning capture, Roxy! it does have a touch of a documentary feel to it.
lol, they have similar facial features.... look like brothers :) nice sneaky shot :) lol
This is one of those photos that you can look at over and over. It has a great vibe to it. One trade off with using a compact camera is that the autofocus has chosen the rear buildings to focus on instead of the subject's faces. Not that this bad, just that it might have been interesting too to have them in focus and throw the buildings out of the DOF a little. You could also go in a bit and crop out the sky. These aren't criticisms, just ideas I'm having of playing around with this great scene you have captured. And you don't have to be sneaky. You took a fine shot of the scene and totally deserve to be there, and certainly are not too much 'in their faces'! I reckon to them you would just be another face in that busy alley. Well done again on capturing this slice of life. Andrew
truly a fantastic shot... great capture.
Marvelous street scene, superb capture Roxy, well done!
Wonderful capture!!
Great capture my friend!!!!
Wonderful photo of them here Roxie, and what a great eye you had for picking these two out.
This is a lovely photo, Roxy. You captured a sort of mundane moment and made it special :)
Hmmmmm.... I'd never considered doing postwork in a pub.... Sorry - I just couldn't resist.... ;-P I see you're as talented with a camera as you are with Poser, Roxy! I'm looking forward to more, my friend! Enjoy your break, and your travels! Be safe, my friend!
Wow, glad to have you back with us, and I'm jealous, trip to London! Love the photo and I'm so happy you are sharing a bit of your adventure here! Great one, Roxy! So full of life!
Very interesting photo, I like how the throngs of people looks like ants milling about between the tall buildings...and the two chirpy chaps who stand out.
Wonderful capture!
Wonderful image.
Great shot! Fine deep view and two fine smiling gentlemen! Could they be brothers? I think they have the same nose and their faces looks simular?...Hm.. Eyes, nose, cheks and chin looks they same...Two brothers in town!.. ;o)
Beautiful photo.
Wonderful street scene!
