Description

This is a redux of my Noble Steed image I posted a while back. The background is my first feeble attempt to create something with Vue 9. Vue is an awesome application, and has been used by some of the biggies in the SFX business - ILM, Pixar, Weta to name a few. Those sweeping jungle scenes in Avatar and Indiana Jones 4 were all done in Vue. Vue 9 is really neat - you can actually download the basic engine - Vue 9 Pioneer - for free. Then as you learn more about it, you can purchase 'modules' which add features to it. Pioneer adds a Vue logo to the bottom right of the image, and also limits the size and resolution of the renders - but you can still render a fairly large image. I just picked up the "Render Up" module which lets you render as large as your sytem resources will allow, and removes the logo among other features. Anyway.... I plunked Spirit, her wonderful steed by Simon-3D, and the ship by NightmareHero into the scene. Spirit's staff is by me, and can be found in the freebies area. I did a bit of postwork with Photoshop and the Virtual Photographer filter plugin. I am working on the next installment of the Girls From TNA. I really wish I could produce these a lot more often, but Real Life is keeping me extremely busy lately. I hope it calms down soon! :-P As always, thank you all so much for your comments, faves, and support! Right now is a difficult time in my life - you guys and gals are what keeps me going!

Been looking at the possibilities of Vue but no commitment as of yet...Though seeing art like this from time to time leans me in a more favorable direction...Bryce still has me by my short hairs and once I get my fill I'll probably try Vue then...So much to learn....so little time to do it in....(sigh)... Do like the Steel Stead!...(smiles)...

Nice work in Vue! I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with using this program. You're so multi-talented with these things, I'm sure you'll be at top speed in no time! Take good care, dear friend ... this, too, shall pass.

Pretty cool Rod. Not bad for a first attempt. I downloaded Vue 8 free version last year sometime but never really did much with it. Been too busy this whole summer to do a render worth uploading. This OT is really taking it's toll. I'll glad when this project is over.

Nice. You're gonna love it. I highly reccomend importing your characters into Vue when you can. You'll love how they interact with the environment in the render. And you'll get angry and frustrated too LOL! Great work.

Why is it everytime I open one of your uploads, the only comment that comes to mind is WOW? It is because everything you do is above and beyond the usual fare. It is because I don't know zip about any of the 3D programs you (and others on RR) use so well...and am stuck without adequate vocabulary to describe what I am seeing. So, as I keep looking and commenting...please don't be surprised by the wow factor that remains in my comments:-) One of these days...life's day-to-day challenges will smooth out. Can you imagine a time when you and Jo only have to be responsible for yourselves?! It'll come.

A super image with a very impressive bg and great colouring. That is a very cute stead Spirit is riding and I love that staff, it looks great. I would like to try Vue too as the scenes look amazing but it is always a time factor with me too. I hope your life smoothes out shortly.

Hey Rod, you ride that thing on a cold day and you'll know it, woohoo! I hear you can get piles that way! Ok, I'ma shuttin' up now! P.S. I have View 9 and a couple of the modules, cool program, if I can get time to use it...man I really need to stop collecting software.

Wow, great ride she has! I think she'll be going places. Hmmm.. free? I may have to get it to play with now. I thought I'd end up with a couple hundred off the bat, but if I can add here and there.. Wonderful first image, you always amaze me with your vision! The landscape is quite dramatic - is it easier than setting one up in Poser?
