Description
I love this flower and I love the smell of it too.
They remind me of my dear mother, as I picked up a big bouquet of them for her every season, because she loved them so much. So this could be a tribute to her. :)
Sorry I forgot the name of this flower, but I bet Andrea knows :)))
THANKS to Andrea, I now know its real name Tansy. What a beautiful Name :-)Thanks alot Andrea :D
Hope you are having a beautiful Weekend.

lovely bloom
It's called Tansy, Tanacetum vulgare. I love your shot of this, Helle! "This plant has strongly aromatic dark green leaves which were once popular as a flavouring, particularly for egg dishes. When baking a cake, cooks regarded tansy as a fine alternative to very expensive imported spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, and at Easter tansy cake was popular until comparatively recent times. The scent is SO strong that even at the time it was in use as a flavouring it was also used as a repellent to keep mice from corn and flies from meat! The 17th century herbalist Nicholas Culpeper recommended it as a preventer of miscarriages, a mouthwash, eyelotion and cosmetic, amongst many other applications!!! The genus name 'tanacetum' and the common name tansy both derive from the Greek word for immortality, for in addition to its manifold virtues it was believed to confer eternal life to those who drank an infusion of it." Perhaps! (Information from Wild Flowers of Britain, pub Readers Digest.)
Beautiful nature capture and a wonderful dedi for you mom! :)
Fantastic shot, wonderful colors. What a beautiful landscape and vegetation.
A beautiful capture, and also a nice dedi for your mom, dear friend. Yes, Tansy this is called in English, we call it "Boerewormkruid". You could make tea from it. I use it against mots (dried in the wardrobe, between the clothes).
This is a really beautiful shot of this plant which is not to be messed with!!
Beautiful photo ;o)))))))))))
Terrific capture of a beautiful looking plant
Very beautiful scenery , Helle ! Great photo !
Great capture Helle, and I have to agree about how lovely this flower is
Lovely photography & bloom Helle!
Wonderful capture! Great colours! :)
They really are lovely. Don't think I have ever seen them before.
Fantastic shots. Beautiful color tones and great details
Mother Nature from her best side! Stunning!
I have always liked these flowers, so intense yellow. Great shot!
Very nice capture!
What a gorgeous shot. I love the way they bloom in clusters. They have the look of some kind of abstract sculpture. I love the intense, sunny yellow. I can see how a bouquet of these would be highly valued; they would brighten up a room nicely! I want to smell them now, and so I'll have to see if they grown anywhere in or near Chicago. This is a beautiful capture. Truly lovely.
Lovely image
Outstanding shot. And you got a wonderful comment from Andrea...love the fact that it was effective in keeping mice and flies away:)
Such a beautiful view, Helle! The clarity is amazing! Very pretty tiny little flowers that you've captured here with great sentimental meaning and value. A very precious tribute, my Friend!
Excellent capture.
Wonderful capture of this place, Helle! The whole view is a wonder, and the flowers are so beautiful. I love the view of the several groups of yellow, in different plans and the red behind..is a fantastic image and zooming is a must !
Beautiful! I've not seen this in person, and it's just lovely! I can see why it was a favorite. :)
beautiful nature foto, great contrast/details
a very beautiful flower! GREAT picture!!!!!
Very beautiful! Excellent composition, dof, and light. I love that the flowers are packed together in groupings with distance between them, sort of like pods in a space station. I imagine an artist creating a space settlement could get some inspiration here. The background is a beautiful compliment to the flowers with the dark tree to the left, the red spotted one on the right, and the beautiful view through them to the field and distant trees. I like the light on the grasses and the rich green and definition of the tansy leaves in the foreground. Beautiful capture!
