Description

The spatted, fixed landing gear of the "Babs" gives it the same old-fashioned look of the Zero's predecessor, the Mistubishi A5M "Claude"- which I've modelled previously. It looks certainly out of place at the vanguard of the formation of A6M2s. I don't expect anyone to make a living out of modelling obscure world war two aircraft. What kind of market would there be? If you want me to put this and other simple models on ShareCG I'd be happy to- the Babs wouldn't look out of place in the background of an airfield scene. I've been teaching myself basic modelling to fill out my "must-have" list of aircraft involved in the "Battle of Broome." For a "forgotten battle" I was surprised that I could actually find markings for Lt Zenjiro Miyano's Kupang-based Zero online. But then fighter pilots probably always get the limelight, the darlings of photographers and propagandists, and the 3rd Air Group was apparently in the thick of it throughout the South-East Asian campaign. I've never had to fight in a war, so you'll never hear me complain about people who do, on any side. With the passing of years I know that before those pilots have even pulled on their boots, you can be sure an awful lot of other "important" people have done some immensely stupid things. Like, someone deciding to take over large sections of the world - yes, that would certainly do it for me... Rendered in Vue 8 Esprit. Thanks for viewing...

If you put them on Share, they (modelers) will come. You've got some excellent models, I think you'll be surprised.

Firstly, another excellent and very atmospheric image. On other matters, I'm always surprised at just how much information there is on the most obscure fighter pilots, but as you say observers don't get the limelight.I for one would have a genuine use for the 'Babs' if available. A 'must have' list :-) will either be out of date in a month or make you realise just how many models you want, and how long it will take to make them all...trust me!
