Description
Several Canadian Geese lifted off from a grazing area to our right. Their path took them over a very busy four lane street where the speed limit is 45mph. One did not gain enough altitude. The impact was sudden and explosive. Thankfully, the goose did not go through the windshield, otherwise I very well may have become a widower in an instant. Nedless to say, we both suffered quite a shock. More so my wife Lea, who was driving. The goose was killed on impact.
Thank you for the look, and for any comments you happen to make. Maybe you have had a similar experience?
A big "thank you" goes out to all who have favorited me or my work.

Wow! A scary experience - I'm glad you and your wife came through it ok.
You guys get all the weird stuff. I'd like to say that I'm jealous, but...no. Give Lea a hug for me! Jeff
Ouch!! Glad all is ok.
both of you were fortunate.I was driving from Arkansas into Okla. and I seen something coming off a rock hauler headed the opposite direction and I ducked.luckily it it the passenger side of the windshield
oh! glad you both are ok...i had some similar experience..but without any damage for us or the car...a bird ...not too much big and not too much small..impacted with the glass...but it was a tangencial impact ..the bird bounced and we have not to stop...i even hardly seen it!
Luckily the glass has survived! Not beautiful experience!
♥ After a very sad week, I’m back for making comments on your captures dear Allen, this one is not so nice, but I wish you and dear Lea a great day/evening ♥
It is always so sudden and unexpected! I am not surprised at the damage. Had your windshield been already cracked, the goose might well have gone right through. I just got a new windshield in my Jeep a few days ago, and I do feel safer.
Yikes, I've heard of plane strikes but a CAR strike? Absolutely amazing story and capture.
Allen! Lea! Just found this (still have 350 e-bots in my e-mail in box!), are you safe? Is Lea OK? Are you OK? You are both so lucky with a goose the size of Canada.. Graphic picture to say the least, sums it up.. Shocking.. Am putting a big note on my desk to write to you when I return from Rosys.. (Been lots going on here sorry), this time I will.. Take care.. Rob
I noticed the feathers right away. As long as you are both OK the it is a great shot.
