Description
This is a test of an explosion and some modified aircraft textures in Vue... to go with the "Battle of Broome" scenario.
Around half Of the 15 flying boats destroyed at anchor in Roebuck Bay, north-western Australia on the morning of March 3rd 1942 were PBY Catalinas: four Dutch, two RAF and two US Navy machines. Since the Zeroes flew from a forward airfield in Timor I've a applied an ad-hoc camouflague over the original pristine grey. I had a lot of trouble finding reference images of early war USN Catalinas- so I'm not sure I've got the arrangement of roundels right yet.
Anyway, thanks for viewing.

Brilliant for a test render, will not nit-pic you know what you're doing.....this is shaping up nicely, can't wait to see how many of these aircraft you can get in the finished scene.Your previous post had me Google'ing as I didn't know too much about the event.I know more now, an ambitious project and interesting bit of 'usually'overlooked history.I'm on board for this one, good luck and watch out for hot shrapnel....
Nice image and slice of WWII history.
Excellent action scene.
