Description
this sign is along the Washougal River Greenway - Western section and is along the boardwalk over the wetalnds area. it is also 8 1/2 feet from ground to top in height. this puts it about 6 feet high in relation to the boardwalk. As you can see, it is covered in mud. this gives you an idea of how deep the river was at the height of the high water. Along the path, there are the edges where the water stopped. I'll post pictures of those spots later on.
As I may have stated before, this is the first time in decades that we have had the rivers this high. In fact, the last time I saw them this high was when I was in High School (prior to 1970)
Have a great day
Mike

SUPER CAPTURE!!!!
Cool!
Excellet documental photography Mike!!!
cool shot
stunning capture. It sure was a terrible flood !
Awesome capture...bet you're glad the flooding is over!!!
Nice shot!!!
they want to keep the people out but failed on preventing the river from doing lots of harm.where I grew up there was constant flooding during heavy rains and a creek many miles from where we lived would extend all the way into my mother's yard .the house was on the highest point and that kept the water to covering 3/4's of the yard but a block away it was around 10 to 12 feet deep
Is hereby warned of the head jumps! The water is just time shopping! Seriously. The flood must have been but very powerful! But as I like the scenery definitely better!
great capture
that sign means you mike = lol... I guess you'll have to find a new place to streak = lol ya gotta wonder if some homeless people got creative and placed that sign there so people would stay away.
Ouch! "/
nice capture very excellent close up !~
wow prayers always ya all..
I like this shot a lot Mike because we can see the muddy residue on the banking below the sign. Dana
A lovely composition of this natural landscape. The sign is interesting, as I have never seen one like this. I've seen all sorts of warnings, but never one like this. A most lovely place, however. It would intrigue me though to actually want to rebel and go beyond at my own risk :) Wonderful photograph, Mike!
Yep - that was mighty high, Mike! Your description really provides a clear idea of just how much water there was! We must be nearly the same age, my friend! :-D Sorry my comments are brief for now - I'm so far behind it hurts! Hope to be back up and running soon.
Yikes! High waters like this make me nervous. I hope there wasn't damage to homes!
wow that's deep!
Still a great shot of now and how it was then.....great capture Mike.
...America dry over the centuries...same up here...
