Oh, I love streets like this...unfortunately, we don't have those in the Chicago area. We're pyrophobic ya know and this is all too close for comfort...we have nightmare visions of flames leaping everywhere...so we spread stuff as far apart as possible, and make them look as dull and ugly as possible: just to be safe. So, after all of that, I have to say that I'm amazed at the space there and the way in which it's so fluid and organic. Nothing seems contrived and everything seems brilliant and alive and exciting and quite sensual. I particularly love the aged, kinda grotty looking building facade (with watermarks it looks like) and bits of graffiti, way up there! Nice! This is one juicy photo, in all of the best ways. OMG! I just noticed the tiny little table (lower left) on the higher ground than where two of the people are actually sitting...on stools no less! That's another something I don't get to see in Chicago...it's a violation of some code or another! I'd much rather be there.

There was an old TV show being made here in Melbourne for awhile because it allowed the location crew to find bits and pieces of the rest of the world, without having to go very far. Melbourne has these wide streets with lots of lights and glitz etc, it has Gothic majesty it has mighty tower of glass, and it has little places like these, which you can find if you just turn around and look through there.... or follow these stairs..... or turn down a street you always just passed by..... Great pic my friend. It really shows why we live here.
