Reality strikes back When the dreams vanish I hate it when that happens. Not for a long time now But in the before time From time to time Cold water in the face Yikes! Rude awakening, indeed.
Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times before he successfully created the light bulb. Nana karobe ya oki - Seven times down, eight times up ~ Japanese proverb Dreams never really vanish. Sometimes they require a different path. Cold water in the face? That's just to see if you are paying attention. {;D

I guess it sometimes is a case of looking at a glass as half full or half empty. Half empty - all the things I've failed at, all the places I will never see, all the things I will never do, all the people I've lost... Half full - all the things I HAVE done and accomplished, all the things I've seen , all the friends and family I have and have known in the past, all the things I still can enjoy... the miracle of the computer for one...friends, knowledge, entertainment... I wish it could make me breakfast...oh well! Guess I better go do it myself. Sigh!
