i love the detail and texture to all of the stone, but i especially like the crosses. because their shape is so pristine but their surface looks so natural, it makes me think of the longevity of memorial stones.
Very astute work. With the name 'Appleby' I would assume that it is supposed to be north of Watling street (as the 'by' in Appleby is Danish of origin). However, the predominant Irish interlocking design on the 'Celtic' cross seems to set it in Ireland. Appleby wouldn't be an appropriate name for a village in Roman Catholic Ireland!
