Description
A **** rated hotel and this is the view? Well, the hotel is located on Rua Tonelero, three blocks from the famous Copacabana Beach, in the district of the same name. Obviously one doesn't pay for the view outside but rather for the service provided inside.
Copacabana is one of the most densely populated districts in the city of Rio de Janeiro, with over 25,000 residents within one square kilometer.
The apartments/condos across from my hotel window all had air condition, but since it is winter down here, most residents had their units turned off and the windows open.
One thing about this view, I could always tell who had worn what the previous day.

Great shot Sig but windows open in winter I close ours and put on the heater lol..
Well, Rio is in the Tropics and the temperature while I was there was in the 70s and low 80s, while here in Phoenix it has been over 110F for over a week. Yesterday it was 115F at the airport, at my house on the patio in the shade it was 118.8F at 4PM.
I too have had similar views from a hotel that should have been much better. On the positive side, the people watching must be fantastic!
Fun shot!!!Eine tolle Reise!!! Toll wenn man soviel von der Welt sieht!!! Grüße Elke
OMG and i was moaning about ours in the 90's omg i would die in that heat for sure and this shot brings a whole new meaning to room with a view lol superb capture !!
must be interseting to view the neighbours patchy undertrousers muahahahaha. hey i do hope the service is at least double as good as the view.laugh.have a nice day man.
great capture !!
interesting and fun capture, Sig
LOL! nice capture!!
Stunning capture my friend. Not so nice to see clothing on the washing line and walls.
I like this shot very much, my friend! It's a little more "artsy" than what you usually do, and the result is outstanding! The asymmetrical composition, the limited color palette, the everyday vibe of the view ... it's all just right. You have such a good eye!
Cool shot!!!
Well, this is reality. The last time I have seen anything like this was when I lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In the fifties in Berlin, before everyone had wash machines and dryers, it was standard procedure to hang the laundry out to dry, and there were no secrets.
The indiscreet window. I like.
Excellent capture! :)
interesting view great capture
sounds like a motel on South Beach which claimed that the Atlantic could be seen from the window.the only way to see it was to walk outside and lean over the guard rail.I was only there for 2 nights so I stayed
Cool shot. I wonder what would happen if someone stole their clothes, LOL!
Street access to these buildings is controlled and this stuff was hanging on the 6th floor. Kind of hard to steal!
Infelizmente está é a realidade aqui, Contraste de belezas naturais com luxo e miséria. Maior ainda nos dias de hoje, Excelente captura meu amigo, aplausos (5)
The hotel was actually very nice with many bellboys, waiters, doormen and front desk personnel, everything one might expect from a top class hotel. It had a gym and an outdoor pool at the 15th floor.
INTERESTING VIEW
Fantastic image. I like very much the colors
This has made me chuckle, so different from the wonderful landscapes in your other captures. The service is more important than the view I reckon.
Very cool photo!!
Ha, like it. A lot of photographers go a long way to find such an interesting, artsy shot. Your **** hotel was giving you a bonus! lol.
Thats one way to look at it Bill lol!!!
Great shot erland
I love the little and large aspect in this shot!! Not a lovely view by any stretch of the imagination but you have captured it well.
Great and fun capture, Sig!!!
