Description
This snail, is what I call: Lionel Richie, :D
Yesterday when I worked in the garden,
I saw two snails making love with each other.
They were startled by my discovery.
I saw that one pooped. I did not know what I saw.
Many came out. So sad, one of them was frighten by me.
Of course I started to photograph.
When I saw this picture, I was reminded of the song:
"Hello", by Lionel Richie. Hence I call this snail to him.
Here, the first stanza of his song.
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I've be alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times (grrrrr :))
I sometimes see you past outside my door (:D)
Hello, is it me you're looking for?

Seriously:
Helix pomatia, common names the Burgundy snail, Roman snail, edible snail or escargot, is a species of large, edible, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Helicidae.
This species is frequently farmed, and is called by the French name escargot when it is used in cooking.
De "wijngaardslak" in het Nederlands (Dutch).
Have a great Sunday further.
And thank you so much for reading, probably commenting; and for your patience too!

oh! a great shot...here we have a lot of them in the rainy season :D
Great capture of this lovely snail Mies! lol I had to laugh at your calling him Lionel Richie. :) Excellent work and humor.
A really great macro shot Mies but fancy making it 'poop'.
I fancy he/she much more than I do Lionel Ritchie..
Great lighting and focus. Love the song. Very well done!! Sing the song again Mies.
OH yes I recognize these snails. We have a whole lot of them in our garden. I dont dare telling the neighbors, that we "planted" them 35 years ago :-) Got them from my grandfathers (on my moms side) garden. We never even dreamed about eating them :) Excellent shot Mies :-)))
een pracht van een wijngaardslak... eindelijk hebben ze regen gehad ! ( en erg lekker met stokbrood en knoflookboter !)
Great capture Mies, and cute idea to use the old song title here
Nice capture Mies. I just think about what Lionel Richie would say if he sees that you've named a snail after him :D
Lol Lionel Richie your sacked i love it superb work !!
So you scared the poop right out of a snail, did you. I've never seen snail poop, not even thought about it, so you made me smile. I don't really believe you are that scarey even if the snail thought you were. And I think Lionel Richie, the snail, is rather pretty.
I have a special garlic & butter bath waiting for him and his family... Great capture

I do love your snail Jacomina, but I really hate the thought of eating Escargots - no matter how delicious they are, as a delicacy and neither do I like Tripe - YIKES ! Give me Cheese and Eggs instead, anytime ... LOL Take care my friend, BB
BTW : I don't eat snails no way ! :)
