Well, geez, you guys have already used the two best jokes...Hmmmmmmmmmm. That really is one scary looking nurse. I've known less masculine looking trannies. She looks like she could win a fight with a Kenworth semi-truck. I think the moment she crashed through my hospital room wall like the prow of a boat, I would suddenly become well just to get out of her way. Great find, and a wonderful capture!
In fact, nurses like this should get right in there with those helpless patients, ha ha!
LoL! marvelous, what amuses me is the need to write the sign in the first place, though to be honest she doesn't look like she gives a F*&K.Not at all like the wonderful, careing and dedicated staff we have today...(well my back's been playing up and I might need one....as long as it's not this one :-) I love these oold war time signs, one of my favourites is "Loose Lips, make it difficult to drink soup"...... or something like that..... (thanks for the comment and link....you gave me an idea....der, der, derrrr...)
This is quite a telling shot. I've recently read Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon and I think a version of this very nurse was a minor character in that sprawling romp of a novel. And speaking of that nurse! WOW! Would she even care about what the sign behind her says? What shoulders she has too! Or is it just an exceptionally small head? I can't quite decide, but there's definitely a proportion issue at play here. I love the fact that there are implied distinctions as well, especially during what was wartime: I'd think that all patients in need of linebacker nurses would be at least somewhat helpless. And yes, why just Bath and why not Manchester or some other place like Nether Wallop? Great shot! Well seen!
