Description
On the bank of the Bacchiglione river crossing Padova I saw this chance encounter between a puzzled cat and a nutria or coypu, a large rodent which has become a serious problem because of its incontinent sex habits. The cat looked at its size, then decided that going home to have his usual Whiskas meal was much less fatiguing, and sauntered away.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Super capture Sandra, yeah Whiskas is the easier option lol..
superb capt
Wonderful and funny capture Cute narrative as well
This is such a fantastic capture Sandra, and talk about being at just the right place at the right time and this is it. I think the cat has the right idea as that rodent is almost as big as he is and doesn't appear to be the least bit scared. It's easy to see why rodents this size could be a problem.
Great capture, right place at right time!!!
I would have sauntered away too. Great capture!
Brought a smile to my face. My dog used to love to chase squirrels until she caught one one day...then she absolutely didn't know what to do...let go and headed for home fast!!!
I've not seen one in the 'flesh' so to speak..interesting!
Right place at the right time for this one Sandra!!
~Excellent capture! The cat made the better choice!~
THis is really a cute shot, Sandra!
There's a certain, "what the hell?", look on the dear kitty's face. Terrific shot, encounters like this are not often caught by camera so well done in sniffing this out.
close encounters of the uninterested kind
Excellent shot ! very funny...I hope until the end!
Wow that was a chance meeting indeed, there at the right moment for sure. Great capture, hugs Jane xx

Lovely shot my friend, superb capture, amazingly done, congratualtions!
Super shot of this cunning cat and rather large rodent. I think the cat made the right choice.
amusant!
what a great catch!!!
Nice capture, Sandra!!
Hmmm... the sex habits sounds interesting, can you tell us more?
The rodent looks like what we call here in Phoenix, a roof rat, which have recently infested a few of our older neighborhoods because of the easy fruit tree pickins! A most interesting scene and great capture!
cats will look twice for sure. cool image
incontinent sex habits i love that one lol. yep and the cat beeing corrupted by humans takes the easy way out of course.
Interesting photo and info!!!
Discretion is the better part of valor. (It is good to be brave, but it is also good to be careful.) "Are you the one who likes to eat rodents? Well here I am!" Gave me a laugh. Fantastic image. Smart kitty.
Splendid capture!!
Fantastic image. I like the muted colors and the mood.
