Description
I saw a notice in the paper yesterday for a photography contest with only shot of Hawaii. I went back thru my files and found this one--sunset at Hapuna Beach on Big Island. It's always been one of my favorites; it's not quite at bright or graphic and it has no palm trees. I remember the day so well. It was our second day in Hawaii and the second time in the same day we came to this beach. The water was warm and we simply couldn't stay out of it. Reminds me of how much I want to go back.

This is gorgeous, and I agree with Tara...you'll go back. Heck, I'm up for going. They have land-dwelling planarians there, and they're predatory! How cool is that?! Anyway, enough about weirdly creepy, garish critters. This is a fantastic shot. I love the fact that it's Hawaii without a single palm tree. It's a glimpse of the real place and that's what makes it even better! Gorgeous and elegant and so incredibly peaceful. Yeah, this is amazing.
