Description
The Rhone Glacier is located in the northern part of the Canton of Valais, Switzerland, and is the largest glacier in the Urner Alps. It is the source of the river Rhone. The glacier has receded ~1,300m during the last 120 years, leaving a track of exposed rock.

A beautiful majestic scene, excellent capture!
Seen from Furka Pass (2,431m - 7,976-ft). We were lucky. A week later they had the first big snow and many of the passes were temporarily closed.

What a magnificant sight! I wonder what changes you would see if you were standing in that same spot today. The scale is amazing. When I first saw the people (center right) I was blown away!

A beautiful clear capture and a wonderful subject.
Wonderful shot! Thanks for including the people for perspective. A shame that it has receded that much but also nice to see what was underneath. Dana
