Description
In the first two Steampunk Circus renders ("Unrequited" 2/13/11 and "Caught in a Bad Romance" 2/15/11), I started with some very concrete ideas about dysfunctional romantic relationships -- hey, it was Valentine's Day -- and created images to illustrate them.
This one is completely different. It begins--and ends--with an visual image that popped into my head the other day. For some reason, I visualized it in the style of a Rafal Oblinsky opera poster.
I have no idea what this image means--although I can think of several possibilities.
The dragon monster is Sixus1's Cthulu (RDNA)-- a Poser figure taken from the work of H.P. Lovecraft. Cthulu, in fact, plays a significant role in Lovecraft's story cycle about an ancient alien race whose presence we can only sense in our dreams.
Lovecraft's short stories and novellas appeared in "Amazing Stories" and other pulp magazines during the late 1920s and the 1930s. You can find electronic links to nearly all his fantasy-horror-sci-fi writing here: http://www.hplovecraft.com/writings/fiction/
The dragon-slayer is RM Angelica in Orion1167's DAZ Phantasie outfit, both of which I used previously in Feb. 1's "A Babe in the City."

Awesome work! Well done!
Very cool work
What a concept! I hope she pulls that never again! A lovely character!
Excellent work! Very symbolic: from "caterpillar" to beautiful "butterfly" or people fried of their burdens....;o)
Fantastic scene and character!!! Wonderful work and light!!!
Excellent
Very funny scene! Great lights!
Nice idea and execution!
~The zipper effect is fantastic...the light is sublime...and the whole scene rocks!~
Amazing scene !
really cute!
Really fantastic!!!!!!!
I'm enjoying this series very much! The zipper is awesome and I love how the beauty comes out of the beast. Might have been kinda cool to have some magic effects especially around her legs as she comes out, but then it would be a shame to obscure the dragon. So creative!
excellent character and scene
Awesome work, you are quite imaginative, your works are quite unique and original!
Excellent and very original piece here, excellent render, congratulations!
A strange and fascinating world!
