Description
The de Havilland Vampire was a British jet-engine fighter commissioned by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Following the Gloster Meteor, it was the second jet fighter to enter service with the RAF. Although it arrived too late to see combat during the war, the Vampire served with front line RAF squadrons until 1955 and continued in use as a trainer until 1966. The Vampire also served with many air forces worldwide, setting aviation firsts and records.
Almost 3,300 Vampires were built, a quarter of them under licence in other countries.
Best viewed zoomed. Below are two more of my shots of this beautiful old VAMP, proudly wearing her Telstars Aerobatic Team colours!

Wonderful capture my friend.
Excellent shot!
Lovely shot. These and the Venom used to be flying around all the time when I was a kid, I remember them well.
A wonderfully preserved example of this very famous jet, mate! I remember The Telstars.. But had not seen them.. Great shots in a dark museum.. (Some are - some aren't! That's the way it goes!) Good one! More.... :-) Rob
