Captured back on 5/15/10, around noon, at the beautiful 16th Annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival, held at the beautiful Muckenthaler Cultural Center in beautiful Fullerton, California.
Better viewed full size.
Just five out of a total of 29 shots I took of this customized old timer. In my fervid determination on shooting the individual elements of this beauty, I forgot to take a full blown three-quarter frontal shot of the car. Sorry about that. With this oversight, I violated all the rules of automobile photography. Mea culpa. The crowd around it didn't help much, either.
I Googled information on this car, and found that it doesn't look like any of the basic 1930 Buick 40 models shown on any of the websites, which are all big four door sedans. The only similarities I could find are the dashboard, radiator, and headlights. The one shown above has all the trappings of a racing car.
Ta-ta, thankx for tuning in, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

This is a very cool old timer indeed Harry! It looks like it belongs here in Philadelphia where I am at the moment. Loads of history here!
Wow, shiny and futuristic in many ways; is that a flux capacitor? Excellent series of shots--and the first one is sort of a full shot, just shot from the very front. I prefer the pieces-of-it angle anyway. Well done!
BEAUTY Harry!!!
WOW Harry! That is one ultra cool machine, everything about it glows
That is one cool looking hot rod! Thanks for posting these.
My first thought was silver, silver, silver, what a lot of silver. Excellent images. It is fun to see the parts of the car whose functions are recognisable, but whose shapes are so different, like the license plate holders. Is that huge curved bit of metal pipe just to hold the license plate? And the exhaust pipe. Is there only one door? If not how does one maneuver around the exhaust pipe when getting in? There were numerous details that you captured that made me want to be there and ask questions. That's pretty good photography, Harry, because I am not as a general rule, that interested in cars. I love the distance seen in the first image, from the front of the car to the windshields (another one of those, the same but very different, things. These windshields make me think of stands to hold sheet music) I love all the different angles you captured and the closeups of the engine. Great detail and reflections.
I forgive you for missing the three quarter frontal shot Harry. There are so many outstanding views in this collage to keep all of us very happy. Can you say "pipes". I love boattails. Dana
