Great capture, Bill! hope we see a fuller shot of this one!
that is one heck of an engine
Nice detailed shot Bill. Is it a Corsair, or maybe even a Grumman Bearcat?
great POV and photo!!
I'm glad you ran over there to get the information you needed, but now I'm jealous! I can't wait to go over there ... soon!! It looks like their planes are in pristine condition, and my shutter finger is getting itchy to snap a few (hundred) airplane shots!
Nice close-up with lots of cool details, Bill! And yes - lots of nuts! Now where did I leave my ratchet? Excellent!
Beautiful old castings, and in such good condition. Great shot!
cool colors smile as brand new looks have a warm weekend warm hugs, Linda
Nice lot of shiny nuts Bill well done!!
Fabulous shapes, and very shiny!
Aw, nuts! And I was expecting to count bolts! :) Very well composed photo illustrating the details holding this engine together. A single Nut/bolt doesn't hold much, but together they all provide considerable strength. The black and silver struts supporting the engine also show nicely. What plane is it? Keep up the good work! :-)
WOOOW!! It looks like it is decorated with diamonds. A very beautiful shot.
Super photograph Bill showing some of the highly skilled work that goes in to making an aircraft fly. Your title reminds me of the story where two lunatics escaped from the asylum and raped two women in a laundrette and then ran off. The head lines in the newspaper next day read:- 'Nuts screws washers and bolts'. Lol.
beautiful
Awesome and interesting capture a POV you don't see to often, clarity and color is beautiful awesome work!
WONDERFUL SHOT
Now that's a good close up! Such great (and shiny) details on this! Looks like a Corsair to me? Yeah? Well taken mate.. Rob
Lovely capture Bill Neat shot and clean plane :) Take a look this: CANADIAN NEW EXOTIC CAR PLETHORE LC-750
Tigercat - woohoo! A "C" series R2800, should be a -34W but, that's right, I CAN'T READ THE TAG! Who's fault is that? LOL. The C series introduced the "split gearbox" in place of the old "one piece" dome shaped box. For WW2 fighter types these should only be on Tiger and Bear Cats, P-47 M's and N's and Corsair -4's ... but currently expediency and cost sometimes finds them on earlier versions of these planes ... oh well. CB16's (Commercial version - like for the DC-6) were cheap and plentiful in the '70's and '80's.
fabulous close up and title!!
A super closeup of this engine it really brings it to life.
Wow, hand me my wrench! Superb POV, clarity and detail in this cool aircraft capture, Bill. And, I love that nose spinner.
Was expecting to see Anthony McCauliffe standing by it. 'found another hanger nearbye' what do you do in America, plants aircraft parts and wait for another Museum to pop up ? Well it looks like a good crop, look forward to more of this.
Well, this picture certianly is nutty! Beautiful plane and a great capture!
Cool shot!!!
Not a single drop of oil... Spotless... Nice capture. Aloha
Beautifully kept!!!
LOL @ nice shiny historic ones! This is gorgeous, like a precious jewel... love the golden patina from the overhead light.
Awesome image! Nuts n' "Bolts"... now it's my turn to think about those things that make me go "hmmm" :) I love the clarity of this, it seems "fast" and powerful! A really cool looking gadget indeed! Beautiful POV and lighting!
and bolts???
