You were expecting a colorful equestrian, or possibly Lady Godiva? Actually, she's closer to Joan of Arc than anyone else I can think of. In fact, I think she's RAD! The horse is a beauty, also.
Captured 11/7/10, at the Renaissance Faire held at the Felicita County Park, 742, in Escondido, California.
Infinitely better viewed ZOOM-wise.
This armor-clad knight, sitting astride the magnificent steed, was part of a host of splendidly dressed medieval characters who proudly paraded up/down the path to commemorate the event. More of that to come in the future.
It was clouding up in advance of an incoming storm when I took these particular pics, which accounts for the relatively drab effects.

Like the graceful pose of the horse and the lady in armour is something new for me. We ladies should be gentle and linger around in fine fabrique let the guys do the braving and fighting.

That really is a stunning horse. Another colorful event well covered by the ninja photographer.
you always make the best out of crazy weather, people crowding you, early lighting, etc, like the post office says, nor rain nor sleet nor snow...(I think that's what the post office says), you always bring out the image even with adversity. Really nice shots of this woman warrior, who does look like J. of Arc, and the horse is captured almost as a carving from some deep stone. It's majestic here. And of course, you have your images from the day, the woman & her stroller & child (looking out of the frame), the onlookers, the garbage bins (great contrast with the Renaissance), etc. In #2, the guy in the brownish shirt & shades looks like he really doesn't belong there, a really fun juxtaposition. Another fine group from a gathering, and that woman & horse look like something from Mythology. Lot of fun, and noble too.
