Description
Hi dear friends,
Seen yesterday in the forest:
"The sphinx oversees his empire".
I was impressed by his attitude.
Thanks for your attention,
many greetings from Mies.
p.s. Oh, I so enjoyed your comments on my bike (grin, grin)

Brilliantly spotted and brilliantly cropped. You had to put your sphinxing cap on for this one Andrea!! I suppose you could call it an octosphinx!! Lol.

i felt very strong tree life!!
great shot
Great find and shot!!
gorgeous capture!
Your tree roots look almost as good as mine, Jacomina - LOL what a fascinating capture, for some reason I always thought of the sphinx as a 'SHE' not a 'HE' ??? hmmm, maybe a gender-bender ? and very dramatic, BB
Very well named, Mies. very few other members the plant kingdom produce structures like the root architecture of trees. The one you have captured here has a particularly ancient venerable look about it. It never ceases to amaze me that there are trees on our planet that were alive when the real Egyptian sphinx was created. The one in your rendering does have a timeless sphinx-like quality about it. And, naturally, it takes someone like you, Mies to see this and share it with us. Thank you kindly.
What a wonderful find and great shot! Splendid shot!
