Description
These guys do it a little differently. The boards are shorter than a regular surf board and they wear fins to kinda steer them thru the wave. This was a bit after noon yesterday.

Nice shot. Aloha
If they made 'seat belts' for these boards, old TallPockets MIGHT give it a try. WINK. WONDERFUL shot, beachzz!
excellent action shot
is now in winter? nice momment captured, pretty boy :-)
Another great surf shot. When I was growing up, there was a huge divide between the regular stand up surfers (like me) and those who rode Body boards. The atmosphere ended in many fights out my local beach. Looking back, it was all so stupid. This guy seems to be having a ball, so good luck to him I say! My daughter rides these too! They used to be nicknamed McDonald's Trays!
Wonderful action shot.
Great shot Marilyn, well done!!
I learned to do this when I retired, but I don't do big waves! BRILLIANT shot!
Fabulous capture! You are SO good at this. Seriously. Awesome image!
Great capture
Excellent action shot, WOW! Beautifully done!
I had fun doing this at a younger age. I'd probably drown if I tried it now, lol. Wonderful capture. Aloha
Great capture! I can feel the wave :)
outstanding action shot
Marvelous shot! WOW! This is really nice and dynamic. I love the way he's breaking through the wave, kinda like...well...surfing; the water splatter is amazing, the color is nicely captured, and the surfer is kinda cute. I'd think that being down low like that would help to increase speed, but with fins and a shorter board, wouldn't sharks be more likely to mistake them for edible seals? It's quite clear that one doesn't surf in this way in shark infested waters. Although I have to say it would make the sport...um...interesting might be the word. I love this shot. You do these aquatic action shots so well. I keep expecting to head out west and just by total accident, see you in your green flip-flops AND a surfboard, heading out to the place where the big waves live.
OMG, what a magnificent rooster tail behind the surfer as he roars across the ocean surface, Maz! That, and the excellent POV, backlighting and clarity, makes this a definite fave, young lady! Stand up and take a bow!
Another great shot my friend :)
Terrific capture! You caught this as well as he caught that wave. Great looking spray! Dana
Hmmmmmmmmm. It's presently 31F in Chicago, and snowing rather majestically around the street lights. Tomorrow we're supposed to get 50mph Canadian winds that will drop the temp into the single digits with below zero windchills...and more snow. I really need to move to California.
Most excellent!, you always get the best action in these surfer shots!
Your kind of shot Marilyn...I'd like to try this.
Great action and detail! Clive
