Description
This is my first collage and I would like to thank Harry ‘king of collages’ (Goodoleboy) for the inspiration and Nancy (npauling) for the knowhow. It was fun and I thank you both very much.
St. Augustine is America’s oldest city. Juan Ponce De Leon, a Spanish explorer (on the left), discovered Florida, in 1513 and Don Pedro Menendez De Aviles, another Spaniard (on the right), founded the city of St. Augustine, in 1565. The sun would not cooperate with Ponce De Leon’s photo – sorry about that.
Don Pedro Menendez De Aviles, illustrious son of Aviles, Spain, Governor and Captain General, Conquistador, Adelantado in Perpetuity of Florida. His statue was a gift, of the people, of the city of Aviles, Spain, to the people of St. Augustine, Florida, on September 8, 1972.
Information from the bases of both statues.
Thank you very much for your comments and favorites on yesterdays post ‘Ladies room door’. The door was open because it was being cleaned. The design was on the inside only and I promise that no one was using the facilities at the time. :>)

While I like the statues, the only thing I can think of when I look at them is 'Thank God I don't have to wear pants like that!' The only bonus is that they are virtually wedgie proof, and could possible double as flotation devices in emergency.
cool statues dana, and wonderful captures. like your collage.
Great captures, Dana! lol at Madbat's comments, but they are so right in the humor
Thank you so much for the dedication, Dana! Glad to see I contributed something to your stellar coverage of St. Augustine and its founders. Photos not bad considering the lighting conditions, plus very interesting info on the statues.
These two make a lovely collage and I'm glad I was able to help about the collage. I have found they make it so easy to use.
