Description
Another of my foggy-forest-snow scenes :)
In the lowest area the thawing has created a puddle of water (it's supposed to be a pathway, not a stream). Texturing & lighting study. Not too happy with it, though - nothing "wrong" as such, it's just a bit too dull IMO.
Vue 8.4 render, the majority of the models and all textures by me. Some colour/levels correction and subtle lensglare filter, framing & signature with Photoshop.
(The idea came from watching television: During an interview with some Danish politician I noticed a large painting in the background with this "thawing forest road" theme, it looked fantastic, and I stopped paying attention to the interview. Instead I tried to find the picture on the web, but with no result. So I made this from memory and imagination...)
Have a nice day

it's interesting. i can kind of see what you mean at the small Rendo display size, but it's much more striking zoomed in. i really love how it looks. it makes me miss snow.
This is really beautiful scene! I did think it was a stream till I read your notes though...
Nice scene Lars.. but I'm not looking forward to such weather this soon... but then you do get it sooner then us!!
AmaZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzing Winter scene!
Truely beautiful scene Lars..love how you have kept some forgotten leaves on the trees that refused to fall, and the few on the ground...an awesome scene!!!
A bit too dull? You are completely wrong, there are nothing dull about it. A classic masterpiece in its beauty.

Excellent Lars, as always !!!
Gorgeous, make a great Christmas card..
Great snow scene - great work - I thought it was a stream too but ... still a lot better than I can do ;)
The first thought was it's overexposured, but sometimes weather conditions are like this. Sunglasses needed. Beautiful winter forest scene, well done!
It's FANTASTIC! When I first saw it, I thought it was a photo. It's incredible how you got the idea for it. TV is good for something!
Gorgeous winter scene!!!!
Hey Lars, That one looks like it'd be a great puzzle to "try" and put together hehehe It really looks like you used some post effects or something to get that almost painterly-ish look there and it REALLY works for this. BTW, do you ever reply back to all these postings people post, or do you upload an image and then go away? hahaha I've probably mentioned this some time in the past too, but hey, I like your works but nearly never see you respond to anyone's comments or even their questions.... though maybe it's just me and I'm just missing those? ;) Great winter time image and in fact, one of the better versions I've seen in a long time, no buildings or anything like that, just nice woods and forest. ....................md :)
Looks very cold indeed. But some thing doesn't fit, cant say exactly what it is, may be the colored grass and bushes that one could wait as blacked by the thawing. Anyway, you are showing us such an expertise through such a wonderfull picture !
you are a Vue master of winter scenes excellent!
Marvelous scene. Your texturing is excellent. I do confess I thought it was a stream instead of a path. Great work anyway.
Beautiful! I like the textures very much.
Really beautiful!
Well your "average" pictures are something for me to aspire to. Nice job.
excellent well done
