Description

...some may say I had too much time on my hands with this photo. I was looking for something different:) This is a view of downtown Seattle looking eastward across Elliot Bay from West Seattle where the first pioneers landed at Point Alki in 1852. Can you imagine their view...nothing but thick evergreen forest where today, a mere 158 years later, we have this metropolis. Bill:) P.S. Zoom worthy. "On the Beach" thumb_2139797.jpg

It is zoom worthy and it is a great big cityscape. It looks great in B&W too. Excellent capture.

How cool is this? How many shots did you take to get this whole pano? Great postwork effect too, accentuating the cityscape and nothing else. Well done you!

Hey, I can see the Space Needle! This could also be a view seen through the periscope of a Chinese or Russian submarine. Nonetheless, fine detail in this time consuming effort, Bill.

I must be honest and say it's never been my favourite PS filter, but good on you for trying it anywayz! Goodoleboy said he liked it because of the fine detail...erm....it's the lack of detail that a threshold filter produces that irks me!

I love the way this turned out. It's got a great look that cries out to be a bumper sticker for something! Instantly recognizable, great graphic vibe, and yet it's still a photograph. Way fun!

Clever stuff. I remember spending hours with some special chemical and hard paper achieving this effect.

Great job with this pamorama. It's almost too long (chuckle) - hard to see all the details (as is the unfortunate usual problem with photos of this kind). Must have been a challenge to knit together. Did you use Photoshop, or one of those recent panorama stitching software products that have come out on the market? Keep up the good work! :-)

Beautiful scenery and great postwork! Very reminiscent of the line work, when it was used for this, the film photomechanical!

You know, Bill, this reminds me a lot of some experimenting I did many years ago with a package of 8 X 10 litho film I got from a trade show I attended. I would put the litho under the enlarger and use it like a sheet of photo paper. Really cool effect, and great job on the pano!
