...sunlight inside an old coastal artillery fort that guarded the entryway to Puget Sound from 1900 until 1943 (the middle of World War II) when the threat of a hostile navy attacking by sea became outmoded...
...today Fort Casey is beautifully maintained as a state park open to all.

Beautiful colors, sunset, and I would never have guessed it was once a fort. But, considering that unknown missile launch off the Catalina Islands near Los Angeles, this type of defence might become very needed again, but with anti-missile batteries instead of guns. I certainly hope NOT, though! You lucky two - such a romantic evening you've had. Keep up the good work! :-)
