Description
The Hearst Castle dining room had five gigantic Flemish tapestries on the walls. You can see the edge of one on the left side. The photos in this series were taken in the mid 1980s with my trusty hand held Pentax film camera and recently scanned. Many areas did not allow flash photography.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

Well imagine that...looks JUST like our dining room...NOT! LOL...wow...talk about fancy. But I've got to say that those chairs look VERY uncomfortable! And very close together. But then again I guess if you're invited to dine at the Hearst Castle you don't think about things like that, LOL. My hubby had a Pentax as a first camera back in the 80's!
Great capture! That is a very looooooonnnnnngggggg table
Great POV and capture! :) Can't say those chairs look all to comfy. ;)
Love this shot of the dining table! Still think those candlesticks are out of this world! Just imagine dining at that table, in those surroundings...and being given paper napkins and little condament jars....must be nice to be eccentric. :-)
Fascinating. I must visit this place someday.
I would expect no less from this family. Fabulous shot that shows the wealth and depth of this powerful family.
Splendid shot Dana, gorgeous place, loved it!
that one long table. cool shot
This is so nice, Dana. It reminded me of the Harry Potter movies.
Wonderful image. Amazing stuff at Hearst Castle.
Guess they didn't like dining alone! ;) Great capture!
great table and wonderful photo!
Wonderful shot. Love the carving work
Now why can't I get my dining room to look like that!
Good impression of great wood everywhere. Seems to me you have to sit very well upright in those seats. :)
Passing the salt might take a while!!
Do you think I could book the place for Christmas dinner.
Lavish surroundings Dana.
The noise must have been horrific!
Lovely capture , Dana !
cool pov
excellent
Only for breakfast :)))
Flipping heck, don't think I know enough people to fill those chairs :o)
belle salle
VERY FINE DINING ROOM, IT LOOKS LIKE MINE ;D
Stellar perspective and opulence in this shot, Dana. Funny, I was thinking of Mr Hearst at one end of the table and his wife at the other end, enjoying their eight pm dinner, with no other guests present. For ease of communication, I guess they could have text messaged each other.
A very elaborate dining room and it goes with the house. Could have quite a party here.
nice capture my friend..
Man, that's one long table, I would hate try and move it into a condo ! Nice to see your Pentax is still delivering the goods ! Well done & ~Cheers~
