a silver courage
future is coming.
Dark past
it stays there
where

buried
we will not look
back again.

Beautiful words and image! Your words have such grace, courage, and light. When I read the last stanza of your poem, I thought of how important it is to understand the past, so that its power to haunt is diminished, but also how important it is not to dwell there. The first stanza is so rich in courage, and exuberant tenacity. When I read your poem, I think of one by Edna St. Vincent Millay, titled "Renascence" I am gladdened in reading your words. Your image is not only beautiful, but a wonderful companion to your words. I don't know which was created first, but they join together into a perfect celebration of spiritual rebirth. I love the mood of your image, from dark and constricted at the bottom of your image, to light and unfettered as the eye travels upward. The darkness lightens and the soul breaks free of its bonds. Beautifully done, and excellent to see.
