Description
Further to my post yesterday, despite the sobering effect of the Royal Victoria military cemetery, it is a wonderfully peaceful place to visit.
Even though some of the residents have been here for more than a century, it is right that we should remember them and their sacrifices for the basic freedoms we enjoy today.
The saddest thing is that, after the hospital closed and before the park opened, these tombstones were the targets of vandals who totally fail to respect the memory of the fallen.
Most of the damage has been repaired but a few stones still bear the scars.
